A barn conversion in the Black Mountains

The initial outlay for this particular project was increased because of the barn’s position close to a mountain stream, resulting in the need for a flood report.  Fortunately the report showed that the barn would not be significantly affected by flooding.  With all the reports in place the design was finalised for a four-bedroomed unit which maximises the space available while retaining a sense of the original structure through the increased ceiling height on the ground floor and by having the stairs as a feature leading off the living area  Below are some 'before' and 'after' pictures, both outside and in.
